THE FUTURE OF GREEN ENERGY

the MISSION

COMBINING PATENTED TECHNOLOGY, UNIVERSITY RESEARCH, AND ADVANCED LOGISTICS
RAPIDRENEWABLES HAS CREATED
THE WORLD'S MOST EFFICIENT BIOFUEL SYSTEM
FOR 100% GREEN, CARBON-NEUTRAL ENERGY
The Mission

ADX is a proprietary, exceptionally productive strain of arundo donax, a perennial giant grass that thrives in a wide range of climates, from temperate to tropical. ADX is an oddity in the plant world—classified as both a xerophyte and a hydrophyte, it is adapted to both drought and flood conditions. Its aggressive growth and ability to prosper on six continents makes ADX the biomass crop best suited to our changing climate. ADX is:

STREAMLINED PRODUCTION

SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN

Using our patented micro-propagation technology, ADX plantlets are multiplied in the lab, then transfered to the field with mechanized auto-planters.

Harvesting is a streamlined, one-step process: ADX is shredded directly into distribution trucks for delivery to the plant, eliminating the need for chipping facilities or storage.

After delivery, the trucks refuel with the plant's ADX-derived biogas, and return to the plantation with process waste, a nutrient-rich byproduct recycled into the soil. The result is a closed circle of energy use, minimized operating costs, and maximum sustainability.

READ FLUSSER

cEO

Before RapidRenewables, Read spent 7 years operating Artistech, a New York-based tech company he built to over 400 clients and sold in 2014. After Artistech, Read spent 9 months traveling in Asia, where he was compelled by the region’s unsustainable growth. Upon returning to New York, he concentrated his efforts towards environmental sustainability—studying Sustainable Development at Columbia University’s Earth Institute where he began to develop the science behind RapidRenewables. The results of his work at Columbia led to grant-funded R&D and the development of our 100% green energy system.

Dr. John Woods

chief scientist

One of the world’s foremost plant biologists in the field of micro-propagation, Dr. Woods holds patents for two biotechnological processes that solve the challenges to large-scale plant production. For fifteen years, Dr. Woods was a tenured professor of biology and director of the National Center for Environmental Education at Tennessee Wesleyan College. Dr. Woods has spent more than two decades working with and developing next-generation biomass crops, including RapidRenewables' own ADX.

CECILY WONG

Marketing & operations

Columbia graduate and partner in Artistech, Cecily has a variety of experience in new ventures—with food startups and creative brands such as The Delicious Dish, The Culinistas, Food Network Magazine, Gastronomie 491, and Atlas Obsura. Beyond her work in startups, Cecily is an accomplished writer—an author published in four countries, including with HarperCollins in the United States. As a founder of RapidRenewables, Cecily has contributed her expertise as a manager and creative thinker throughout development—from the Columbia Business School Incubator, to field and market research in Asia, to our pilot project in northern Thailand.
